Rev. Daniel Robert Blackmond was born and reared in Chicago, Illinois. He moved to Raleigh, North Carolina in 1991 upon graduating from the Chicago Public School system. He attended Shaw University where he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science. He then began a career at a software development company in which he met his wife, the former Hollie Etheridge of Wendell, North Carolina. To this union was born four sons Daniel II, David, Darren and Drew. Having a greater desire to serve our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, he continued his education, and in 2005 he has earned his Master of Divinity from Shaw University.
Rev. Blackmond is an energetic Pastor who is excited about serving the Lord. With power from the Holy Spirit to serve, his goal is to make a difference in the lives of those God allows him to minister to. With compassion for God’s people and with the aid of God through his Holy Spirit Rev. Blackmond strives to preach and teach about Jesus Christ redemptive love to the world. When visiting the sick and shut in, working with the youth, or just sharing the gospel to the world, he displays the love that God has first shown him. He strives to do as 2Timothy 2:15 says “Work hard so God can approve you. Be a good worker, one who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly explains the word of truth. (NLT)”.
As Pastor of Now Faith Community Baptist Church, Pastor Blackmond has
brought a spirit of love and excitement about serving God and loving each
other. Since answering the call of Pastor Now Faith, the church has grown physically and spiritually. Where the churches mission is "A Church that lives by Faith!"
